My friends know that I’m fascinated by flowers. When traveling, I am usually taking some photos, so that later I can still admire them. Now I can see how my friends’ lips turned into a smile, when they read the ‘some photos’ part. Well, I do confess that I take much more than ‘some’, but this is another story
. Today it is all about the frangipani. Frangipani is one of the sunning flowers that people living in the subtropics and tropics take for granted. For me, it was impossible not to notice them as you never see such beauty in Moldova latitudes. The color of the flowers varies from white, white with a yellow center, through shades of apricot, pink and even dark red.

I recall the times when I was living in the Dutton Park region just across the bridge from the university. On my way to and from classes I used to pass by several frangipani trees and I would always pick up one of the fallen blossoms that ‘littered’ the pathway. They are magnificent flowers with a heady perfume. At twilight they released an especially sensual spicy sent that I adored the most.

Later I came across them in Ayutthaya, Thailand when visiting the Historical Park where the three spires were surrounded by the pristine white frangipani trees. Another unforgettable place.

What’s my favorite frangipani color? I am afraid I cannot decide on that as each has its own beauty and makes the frangipani flower unique and exquisite. Can you?
